(Bath, England)

Standing in the southwestern region of England, the city of Bath offers a rich heritage, with the city centre being full of striking, historical buildings. The very heart of Bath is centred around the Bath Abbey, a grand cathedral founded at the end of the 15th century.

Bath Orientation: Layout and Directions

Much of central Bath stands alongside the scenic River Avon, which features a famous wier and the classical Pulteney Bridge, with three large arches and unusually lined with a good selection of shops. Bath city centre is extremely well pedestrianised, with most restaurants, shops and tourist attractions being within easy walking distance of each other.

Standing on one side of Bath city centre, the city's bus station offers a good selection of public transport, together with National Express coaches, which provide a popular way to travel around the country. Sightseeing buses are also available at the Bath bus station, while the appealing Bath Spa train station is also nearby, at one end of Manvers Street.
