About Bath Theatres and Entertainment

(Bath, England)

Bath is relatively small, but does have some very notable venues for theatre, as well as several festivals which include the popular Fringe Festival which runs for two weeks in May and June. There is also an annual festival in September celebrating the works of Jane Austen - a one time resident of the city.

The Bath Royal Theatre is the most important and historic venue in the city and frequently puts on musicals and plays that are commonly seen in London. Concerts and comedy are also hosted here. There are several other commendable theatres such as the Rondo, Ustinov Theatre, Windows Art Centre and Natural Theatre Company, all putting on an array of performances.

Live music is limited to pub venues, and there are at least eight discos with late licences, including Cadillacs, Babylon, Moles Club and Savilles among others. The Comedy Cavern is one venue in town offering a light-hearted evening.
